A woman's heart should be so hidden in God that a man has to seek Him just to find her.

Jeremiah 29:13

UnkaGlen Reblog: The Art of Romance.

unkaglen:The Art of Romance!

Why aren’t we making our romantic lives an art form? Have you got your head so far down in the lousy little details that you fail to look up at the stars and dream? You can turn anything into an art form… fashion, cooking, interior design, you name it. Heck when a dude puts on some black pajamas and goes all ninja in this piece, we call that martial arts.

Ladies, you could turn being a girlfriend into an art. Your man doesn’t make you a good girlfriend, you do. So what are you waiting for? Are you waiting to actually have a boyfriend before you become an awesome girlfriend? That should go over great, “hey sweetie, before we start dating, you should know I’m going to be a really bad and clueless girlfriend to you, but I’m gonna get started on improving that right away, so, ya know, stick around, I should have something for you on that sometime soon…”

Fellas, learn the art of the boyfriend. Think outside the box because Lord knows you haven’t had much in the way of good examples. If you find yourself in a state of utter cluelessness, just bail water. The ship is sinking, so don’t think, just bail. You see some flowers you can buy, don’t think, just buy them. You don’t know what to say, so just say how you feel, point blank. “You are beautiful and that shirt looks good on you (it’s a blouse, but keep going) and your hair smells like strawberries and you make me feel funny all over but in a good way and I wanna be around you and I really want to be ON YOU but not in a bad way just in a respectful way but still in a sexy way but I know it’s not the time in our relationship for that right now and I want to wait for God’s timing but I just want you to know that you really turn me on and I think your eyes are pretty.”

A woman who digs you will be very happy with this compliment, and eventually you’ll learn how to turn that into an art form all your own.

And this relationship itself should be a work of art, shouldn’t it? Artists talk about inspiration, right? Inspiration literally means “spiritually moved to create”. God wants to work in you both to make this relationship a work of art, but most relationships look like some dang macaroni glued onto construction paper and some random glitter in little clumps. It looks like some sad uncoordinated kid made it against his will. Dang people. If things have ground to a halt, throw out the rulebook and start over from scratch. God will meet you in that moment and give you inspiration on how to do this thing in a whole new way, that’s unique to just the two of you.

You can do this like nobody has ever done it before. So stop waiting for someone else to give you permission or motivation. You’re God’s masterpiece, it’s your life, and this is your one shot at it… make it something inspirational!
