A woman's heart should be so hidden in God that a man has to seek Him just to find her.

Love

So simple, yet we complicate it. With love often so materialized in this society, it lost its essence. Men feel pressured to write poems, while women fantasize about their diamond rings, threatening “if he doesn’t get me the right ring”…. You must wait 3 days after getting a number, you must buy her flowers on Valentine’s day, you must cook him a romantic dinner, etc etc. Seriously, when did we start making laws on love?  When really, love should come naturally to us. Especially us children of God, we really ought to know love. We love because he first loved us [1 John 4:18].

But most of us struggle to understand the concept of love and probably will until we die. Why? Well, we are sinful…But I also think it’s because God’s love is often poured in silence. And if we are not attentive or in-tune with God I think it can easily be missed or be misleading.  Silence is underrated. Spiteful words can hurt your feelings temporarily, but silence breaks your heart. In the same way, sweet words can temporarily warm your feelings, but silence builds your heart. Silence is powerful and is a source of great strength.

It is so easy to express yourself, with words or other forms. It’s almost the easy way out. You say what’s on your mind- at least now you can sleep in peace, right? But to bite your tongue when “sweet talking” may help you get your way- that takes strength and wisdom. No wonder God speaks in silence. We ought to learn from the way God loves us.

As I prepare to try to resume back to my normal life, I was reminded that my life is definitely not a paradise. But I guess paradise is never a home for anyone.. it’s a resting place.I then thought to myself- Love is not a paradise either, it’s more like heaven.  I want to learn to love with actions and in truth. So that my love gestures are not temporary pleasures/promises that lasts couple months, but are “until death do us apart”. I want to learn to love in pure silence, so should you. Soak in God’s silent love! This is only the beginning….
